Project Description

Objects Of is the second installment of Source Material, a student-run publication I helped found at ArtCenter College of Design. Where the first issue sought to reconnect remote students during the peak of the pandemic, Issue 02 found itself adapting to a new challenge and opportunity: the school’s return to in-person studios and activities.
       Objects Of developed into three parts: (1) in-person workshops, (2) the print publication itself, and (3) an EOY launch party exhibition that over 130 members of the ArtCenter community attended. Special thanks to Gabrielle Pulgar for leading design, Rebecca Brown for leading launch party planning, and Reuben Merringer, our faculty advisor, for his support across two issues.

Workshops: We led two workshops where students from different majors met to create content for the publication and a custom font named Marks.

5–8

Publication: Issue 02 included a poster, screen printed envelope, and a print publication.  500 copies were produced, an increase from Issue 01’s 300.

9–12

Launch Party Exhibition: I designed a large wooden palette to display and distribute the 500 copies. It became the centerpiece for the exhibition and encouraged a variety of ways for guest to engage.
